Message: "What Do You Want?"
Sunday, August 31, 2008
"The next day John was there again with two of his disciples. When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, "Look, the Lamb of God! When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus. Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, "What do you want?" - John 1:35-37

Message: "God's Zealous Love for Us"
Sunday, June 22, 2008
Speaker: Trey Kent

"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." - Romans 5:1-8

Message: "What Do You See?"
Sunday, June 8, 2008

"The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. He asked me, 'Son of man, can these bones live?' I said, 'O Sovereign LORD, you alone know." - Ezekiel 37:1-3

Special Guest: Pastors Billy and Marianne Allen
Message: "How to Deal with Life's Storms"
Sunday, January 27, 2008

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed." - 1 Peter 1:3-7

Compel Them To Come In
Sunday, August 19, 2007

"When one of those at the table with him heard this, he said to Jesus, "Blessed is the man who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God. Jesus replied: 'A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests. At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, 'Come, for everything is now ready.' But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said, 'I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.' Another said, 'I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I'm on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.' Still another said, 'I just got married, so I can't come.' The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, 'Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.' 'Sir,' the servant said, 'what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.' Then the master told his servant, 'Go out to the roads and country lanes and make them come in, so that my house will be full. I tell you, not one of those men who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.'" - Luke 14:15-24

When Tragedy Strikes
Sunday, August 5, 2007 Pastor Trey Kent and family share reflections from an event that happened in their life 22 years ago that changed life as they knew it instantaneously. This event was a tragic car accident that could've ruin the plans of a young newlywed couple who were looking forward to the days of serving the Lord together in full-time ministry. Listen to the message to hear the lessons learned by Trey and Mary Ann and the power of prayer during the hardest moments.

Who Will Go For US?

Sunday, 07/01/07

"Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" - Isaiah 6:8

This Sunday, Northwest Fellowship had a special speaker visit us: Missionary Ron Hewitt. Ron works in Honduras, in the mountain area of the region. He has been there for close to 9 years working with the local people. Listen to the message brought by Ron on the work in Honduras, but greater than that, our work in reaching a dying world wherever God has placed us.

Loved, Forgiven, and Restored
Sunday, July 22, 2007

"When he came to his senses, he said, 'How many of my father's hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired men.' So he got up and went to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him." - Luke 15:17-20
Pastor Mark Juarez shares a passionate message with Northwest Fellowship church about a very familiar story found in the Bible. The twist is the very personal application this story has for Pastor Mark. Listen to a father's heart speak on "The Prodigal Son" and the restoration that is the centerpiece of the story.

Wanted: Followers of Christ
2 Timothy 1:5-9
Sunday, 05/13/07
Mother's Day

"I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also. For this reason I remind you to fan into flames the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God."

The Apostle Paul writes a stirring letter to a young pastor named Timothy and urges him to "fan into flames the gift from God". Today, we take a look at three important aspects of Paul message to Timothy. It is vital to know these things, because the Lord is calling all of us to spread the good news from our own corner of the world to the very ends of the world. Join us today as we learn from Pastor Trey Kent about what is required of us as "followers of Christ". Listen also and hear from our special guest, you will be blessed beyond measure by their own personal experiences as faithful followers of Christ.

Facing our Giants: The Exploration of the Land of Canaan
Numbers 13:31-32, Sunday, 04/22/07

"But the men who had gone up with him said, "We can't attack those people; they are stronger than we are." And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, "The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size."

How do we face the giants in our lives? Do we grumble? Do we react in fear? Are we defeated before we even attempt to face the giants? Listen to Pastor Mark Juarez speak about 12 men found in the book of Numbers who gave a report on what the Israelites were facing and how two of the men, Joshua and Caleb, had a different report. Not one of fear but one of confidence that God was greater than the giants. What do we learn from the two distinct reports? That God wants to speak to us in these situations, if we only would stop to pray and fast and listen.

Shame, Sin and Wrath
Good Friday Service
Friday, 04/06/07

Shame, sin and wrath. How do we view these three items in our life? Is it important enough for us to worry about how we would get rid of the shame, pay for sin and what wrath meant in terms of offending a Holy God? Learn how the sacrifice made on our behalf on the cross by Jesus deals with all three. Listen now to our Good Friday message: Shame, sin and wrath.

Acts 2:31-33, Romans 8:28-31
Sunday, 04/08/07"Seeing what was ahead, he spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to the grave, nor did His body see decay."
Join us for this dynamic message on Easter Sunday. Jesus conquered death, sin and every enemy we have that puts us in a defeated Friday living mentality. But we are not defeated, rather through Him, we live in a Sunday spiritual victory. Listen as Pastor Trey Kent speaks on the four key points in this week's message: Sunday Living in a Friday World.

A Look at 1 Corinthians 14:26

Sunday, 02/04/07

Co-Youth Pastor and Teacher Axel Dion speaks this week on the need to place practical application to 1 Corinthians. It is not enough to just talk about the spiritual gifts we've been given or revel in them. We must exercise the gifts, to glorify God and serve others.

Welcome to NWF Family Ministry – where both children and parents come together on Sunday mornings! The areas that make up our Family Ministry are as follows:

HarvestLand is our nursery through early childhood morning program. Our nursery for infants thru 30 months is a safe, caring and nurturing environment. Older two year olds thru Kindergarten explore an introduction to their Creator in an exciting, creative, and interactive way.

HarvestKids is our 1st through 5th grade elementary program. Learning God’s Word through several different and unique environments makes our Sunday morning experience inclusive to all families.

Family Time Production (F.T.P.) is a one hour production for parents and kids where families are encouraged to learn the virtue taught each month to our second hour HarvestKids. This production combines storytelling, drama, lights, music, and video to entertain and challenge families. It's also a great way for kids to invite friends and their families to attend a NWF program! There is something for everyone at F.T.P.

Children's Worship Team is a commitment to our firm belief that kid's like to sing! But it is more than just singing, we strive to teach the children about praise and worship for our everlasting God. Kid's like to sing, but they really love to worship. Children's Worship Team meets every Wednesday night from 7:00 - 8:30 pm

HarvestKids is our first through fifth grade children's ministry, offering two distinct study times on Sunday morning. They are as follows: HarvestKids 9 am first service families: Parents attend worship and HarvestKids attend age appropriate classes and become acquainted with the Word of God through an extensive study of scripture.
1st and 2nd grade are taking an in depth look at what creation proclaims about God. From the smallest snowflake to the largest star, all creation gives powerful testimony to the greatness and worth of the one, true, eternal Creator. 3rd through 5th grades are currently studying God’s promises as gifts to the believer. The challenge of the Christian life is not to simply know the promises of God, but to place unshakable confidence in them.
Children Desiring God is the curriculum taught each Sunday during our 9 am service. To view samples of this curriculum, log on to: ChildrenDesiringGod.org

HarvestKids 11 am second service families: Parents attend worship and HarvestKids attend our small group (Plug-In and Catch-On) and large group (Power-Up!) environment where children learn how to study the Bible, worship through creative singing, and build quality friendships with other kids and their small group leaders. Each week, a bottomline that goes with the virtue of the month is taught to the kids. The lesson doesn't end there, that is just the beginning. Each child is given a God-Time card to work on during the week (five minutes total each day for four days) and also a Refrigerator Card to remind them of the bottomline for the week. All of which can be worked on and explored with parents in the comfort of the home learning environment.

Message: "A Preoccupation with Jesus"
Series: Moving Ahead Together
Sunday, August 17, 2008

"As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!" "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."- Luke 10:38-42

Message: "Continual Prayer Is Vital"
Series: Moving Ahead Together
Sunday, August 10, 2008

    "I delight greatly in the LORD;
my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

For as the soil makes the sprout come up
and a garden causes seeds to grow,
so the Sovereign LORD will make righteousness and praise
spring up before all nations."- Isaiah 61: 10-11

Message: "An Unlikely Army"
Series: Moving Ahead Together
Sunday, August 3, 2008

"Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them saying:
"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
      for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
      for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
      for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you." - Matthew 5: 1-11

Message: "Community Is Core"
Series: Moving Ahead Together
Sunday, July 27, 2008

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." - Acts 2: 42-47

Summer Bible Study---THE LIES WOMEN BELIEVE - Women's Ministry

We will be starting a Women's Bible study based on the book, Lies Women Believe, by Nancy Leigh Demoss (available at Family for $15). I know, I rolled my eyes at the title also - until I finally broke down and bought it. This is LIFE-CHANGING!! We are in the midst of a huge movement among God's people, and we need to be totally free to hear His small voice above the world's shouts. We need to be healed of lies we've carried deep within - so deep that we don't even remember falling for them.
LIES ABOUT OURSELVES: I should not have to live with unfulfilled longings.
LIES ABOUT SIN: I cannot walk in consistent victory over sin.
LIES ABOUT OUR MARRIAGE: If I submit to my husband, I will be miserable.
LIES ABOUT OUR EMOTIONS: I can't control my emotions
LIES ABOUT OUR CIRCUMSTANCES: I just can't take anymore.
We will start this study on Wednesday July 2 at 10 am. We will have childcare in my house (girls, this means no excuses about having your kids! ). I live in Carriage Hills, just off 183 and 1431 in Cedar Park. Here are the details:

Women's Bible Study
10am - 12ish? Plan on noon, but we may go until 12:30
Coffee will certainly be provided - if you want snacks, bring ‘em!
Childcare is provided
Please let me know if you will be coming - I look forward to sharing my home and heart with you!

Message: "Benefits of Living for an Audience of One"
Sunday, May 18, 2008

"You know, brothers, that our visit to you was not a failure. We had previously suffered and been insulted in Philippi, as you know, but with the help of our God we dared to tell you his gospel in spite of strong opposition. For the appeal we make does not spring from error or impure motives, nor are we trying to trick you. On the contrary, we speak as men approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please men but God, who tests our hearts. You know we never used flattery, nor did we put on a mask to cover up greed—God is our witness. We were not looking for praise from men, not from you or anyone else." - 1 Thessalonians 2:1-6
